Here at Community of Hope, we are blessed to have many positive connections throughout Brevard County. Never was that more apparent than at our annual Gala, held at the Hilton Rialto. Members of the community and representatives from organizations far and wide came to support our mission and celebrate the many different ways we have worked together to touch the lives of countless families in need. Greg Pallone was the Master of Ceremonies, curating the event with charisma and aplomb.
Along with the incredible silent auction baskets, generously donated by a multitude of companies and organizations, there were drawings, contests, and a live auction at the end of the night. The baskets were themed and the bidding was fierce for grills and getaways, kitchen kits and cookies and the live auction featured some fantastic wine. It was all in good fun, though, as the funds went directly back to providing affordable housing to families that often wouldn’t have any other option.
Another feature was our gifting tree, sponsoring children for Camp Hope. Each donation provided the funds necessary for the crafts, programming, and trip for a week of camp. This is especially important as we offer Camp Hope to children in Brevard county who are in transition at no cost to the families, and we want to make sure it is as full an experience as possible for them each and every week.
During a scrumptious dinner, we were lucky enough to have Linda “Schuyler” Ford embrace us with her gift of storytelling. As advocates for those whose voices are often pushed aside, we were grateful for her presence and the stories that she shared.
A huge thank you to everyone that came out, supported, or participated in this year’s gala event! We can’t wait to see you next year!
